Participation Level:

• Abstract Submission. All entries must be accompanied by an abstract (250 to 300 words) and submitted via the link provided, before October 25, 2024, 5:00 PM.

• Entry Evaluation. Each entry will be evaluated by the organizer. The organizer reserves the right to reject entries that do not comply with the terms and conditions of the competition.

 

Screening Stage

• Video and Poster Submission : Successful entries must submit one (1) presentation video link (3 to 4 minutes) uploaded to YouTube, along with one (1) A1 size infographic poster and permission form via the link provided, between 4 November and 8 November 2024.

• Showcase and Judging : The innovation showcase and judging session will be held online and physically from 11 to 15 November 2024. The presentation requirements and schedule will be issued by the competition secretariat. Swapping of presentation turns is not allowed. The total presentation time for each participant is 15 minutes, including 5 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for the question and answer session.

• Attendance and Preparation: Participants must be present and prepared during the judging session. Make sure you are on the video conference link provided 10 minutes before the scheduled time.

• Presentation format : Each participant must present in 5 minutes following the following format: (i) issues and problems, (ii) application of innovation, (iii) novelty, and (iv) marketability and commercialization potential.

• Only the best five (5) participants in each category who meet the specified requirements and criteria will be selected and advance to the final stage of the competition.

Final Stage

• Face-to-face presentation: Five (5) finalists for each category will be selected to present their innovations face-to-face at Universiti Malaysia Sabah on 21 November 2024.

• Innovation exhibition: During the presentation session, participants had the opportunity to showcase their innovations.

• Presentation format : Each participant must present in 5 minutes following the following format: (i) issues and problems, (ii) innovation applications, (iii) novelty, (iv) marketability and commercialization potential, (v) achievements/recognition/awards.

• Prize offers : Prize offers are subject to change by the organizer and sponsor.

• Note: The innovation presented in the final stage must be the same as the innovation presented during the screening stage.
